Embrace signs statement welcoming the passing of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) resolution
Earlier this week Embrace was one of 15 NGOs to sign a statement welcoming the passing of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) resolution endorsing the International Court of Justice’s Advisory Opinion on the ‘Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem’. While the statement welcomed the passing of the resolution it also expressed disappointment with the UK government's decision to abstain from the vote. We call on the government to fully comply with its related obligation under international law to cooperate to lawfully bring this illegal situation to an end. The full statement can be read here.
Prior to the vote Embrace signed a statement along with other NGOs calling on the government to vote in support of the resolution. That statement can be found here.
