PEACE AND JUSTICE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, WITH MAE ELISE CANNON

In this episode, Embrace CEO Tim Livesey speaks with the Rev Dr Mae Elise Cannon, the Executive Director of Churches for Middle East Peace and a pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church in the US.

The conversation begins with Mae sharing about her first ever trip to the Holy Land. This long-awaited trip was a shocking and unexpected awakening to the realities of Palestinian suffering – and, as she explains, it completely changed the trajectory of her life and work.

Mae discusses the challenge of simultaneously honouring competing narratives about the Holy Land and upholding human rights – a difficult tension, but one that her organisation, Churches for Middle East Peace, is committed to.

She also speaks about why she never fails to be inspired by Christians in the Middle East and shares a secret must-visit place in Palestine.
